G-Drive SMP Russian Circuit Racing Series, 5 stage: Results
On September 10 and 11, St. Petersburg hosted the 5th stage of the Russian Circuit Racing Series, in which two pilots of the Yuka ADV Pro Racing Team, Alexey Savin and Alexander Salnikov, compete in the Touring Light class.
About 5.5 thousand spectators came to the Festival of Speed at the Igora Drive circuit. They plunged into the world of entertainment and became the owners of valuable prizes, and most importantly, they witnessed an exciting struggle in a dozen races.
On the first day of the race weekend, qualifying races were held, as a result of which Savin took 5th place, and Salnikov — 12th (due to a collision).
On Saturday and Sunday there were two races in the Touring Light class. Aleksey Savin started from 5th place, but due to a false start he had to go through the pit lane and finished the race in 10th place.
Alexander Salnikov started from 12th place, in the middle of the race he was able to break into 5th place, but after a collision with an opponent, his steering rod was bent, and he fell behind to 6th place.
In the second race, Alexey took 7th place, and Alexander – 8th.
Broadcasts of all races were shown on the federal TV channel Match TV and thematic channels Match! Country and Match! Planet.
A rich program was prepared for the audience: from the team, the presenter raffled off prizes and gifts, drummers performed on the starting grid and on the pit lane, and Sergey Stilov became a special guest, who presented an electric scooter to the winner of the competition on the main stage.
The next, final stage of the G-Drive SMP RCRS will bring together participants of 5 classes at the Groznaya Fortress circuit in the capital of the Chechen Republic on October 7 and 8.
