EDC x Yuka Gymkhana Challenge
What is Gymkhana?
- Gymkhana is a modern motorsport discipline that blends elements of z, circuit racing, and autoslalom.
- Here, the main judge is time. The winner is the one who completes the course the fastest and with the highest precision.
- What makes gymkhana unique is that the course is always different — it tests a driver’s quick thinking, accuracy, and full concentration.
Competition rules
- A mirrored track is used, consisting of two identical sides with technical elements and obstacles.
- Two drivers run the course simultaneously, then switch sides and repeat the race.
- The winner is determined by the lowest combined time and the fewest penalties across both runs.
Judging is based on the following parameters:
Overall time is the main indicator. Timing is
measured using a telemetry system.
Penalties (added seconds) are given for:
-
01
Moving track elements
(cones, markers, etc.) -
02
Failing to hit required elements
(such as a “piñata” target) -
03
Mistakes during
maneuvers -
04
Deviating from the required trajectory
— which may lead to losing the run
Bonus time may be awarded for precise, clean execution of
specific figures or complex elements.
False starts and other technical infringements may result in
a rerun or disqualification of the heat, according to the
event regulations.
